#10.‘Door to Hell,’ Turkmenistan
The picture is enough to scare the crap out of anyone, and it is more chilling when you get to know it is not a scene from any of the Sci-Fi movie but an actual site in Turkmenistan. Geologists created this pit some 40 years ago, and the flames have originated from within since then. This giant hole of fire is alive in the center of the Karakum Desert.
